Hoarders vs. Wasters
People nowadays who did not live through the depression era do not understand why some people (especially the older generation) keep things that some would consider useless hoarding. Back in the day times were tough and you could not run down the street 1 block to a hardware store or a convenience store to get what you need. Back in the day sometimes you had to create something on your own or find your own way to fix something because a replacement was not always available or in your budget. Today's generation has become such a "throw-away" society, that sometimes you drive down the street and people have useful items placed at the curb with the trash, that could have been donated or given to someone who could use it. People nowadays in general either forget that times are tough for others, or forget that FREE ads are easily available online to post something they have to GIVE AWAY, or are too lazy or selfish to do it. It is these "throw-away" thinkers that call the rest of us "hoarders", because we know that just as soon as we did get rid of something, we would need it and have to buy another one, spending money that could be used for something else or helping someone else in need. Some people prefer to use older gadgets because they do not trust, like, or understand the technology manufactured in today's gadgets, or they prefer to keep living their lives as simple as possible. So you people who are so quick to call others "hoarders", perhaps the "hoarders" should be calling YOU "wasters", for wasting valuable items or resources that someone else could use if you no longer need it, rather than just "throwing it away". Think about that, the NEXT time you consider calling someone else a "hoarder". Are YOU a "waster"?
